5. El Dorado Farm - Brazil

Eldorado Farm is situated in the Alta Mogiana region of São Paulo, Brazil. Nestled at a high altitude, the farm enjoys a tropical climate characterized by humid, wet summers and brief dry winters, making it an ideal location for coffee cultivation and home to numerous award-winning coffees.

This coffee is ethically sourced from Eldorado Farm, which comprises seven plots. The farm is renowned for its exceptionally sweet coffees, thanks to its Honey processing method. In this technique, the beans are stripped of their pulp but remain unwashed, allowing them to absorb the sweet flavours from the fruit still attached to them while drying in the sun.

In 2001, Mr. Laerce Franca Faleiros, the farm's owner, founded the Cooperative de Cafeicultores de Ibaraci – Cocapil, where the coffees are collected, processed, and stored in the family’s warehouse. By focusing exclusively on fine and specialty coffees, the cooperative promotes the farms as Direct Traders, ensuring 100% traceability in their warehouses. Every single lot is cupped in their coffee lab to align with the desired profiles of end customers.

They are trailblazers in maintaining transparency in commercial relationships with producers, ensuring their coffee lots achieve high grades according to the SCA cupping methodology, which allows them to offer better prices to their members. Each lot received is verified by their Q-graders.
